BRILLIANT BRITISH: Lingering Loves

Dubbed the “short story specialists” by The Sunday Times, WORDTheatreUK is a charitable organisation that creates bespoke events for adult and student audiences on a mission to connect people with beautifully crafted literary events that celebrate being human.

Great actors step into the finest contemporary short stories with the authors present in our signature Author • Actor Series. Each year we partner with writer/editor Nicholas Royle and authors we have discovered in his celebrated Best British Short Stories series.

Brilliant British: Lingering Loves brings together three stories: Graham Mort’s “Celia,” Lucy Thynne’s “Philosophy,” and Ben Tufnell’s “Sand,” connected through their musings on love and the ways in which it stays with us as we age. Featured actors include Gary Kemp (The Kemps: All Gold), Tara Summers (Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed) & Ben Miller (The Armstrong and Miller Show).  Derek Nash will provide saxophone accompaniment.
